Position Summary: Children’s Aid seeks a dynamic self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. This paid internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of communications and public relations while working for a leading community-based nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities:

    Conduct outreach to clients to gather compelling stories for the New York Times Neediest Cases Campaign. Drafting copy for the various Children’s Aid publications and social media platforms (i.e. brochures, press releases, Twitter, and Instagram)
    Archiving Children’s Aid media hits and generating media reports
    Event support
    Collaborating with staff to brainstorm media opportunities
    Graphic design of flyers, posters, and other marketing materials using Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)

 

Qualifications:                                                              

    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    Social awareness surrounding the Children’s Aid mission and the populations we serve
    Proficiency in Adobe Suite, graphic design, and HTML is not a requirement, but is highly desirable
    Completed or working towards a undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in a related field (i.e  marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, English)

Dates: June 1 – August 15 (some flexibility)

Hours: Minimum two days per week in the office
