Do you want to play a key role in an organisation which stands up for children? Then join us as Health Financing Policy Adviser, supporting the organisation’s advocacy work on child survival and the right to health.

In our Policy, Advocacy and Campaigns Division, we fight for children every single day. We drive political and policy agendas at national and global levels. We integrate advocacy, policy, research and campaigning into one agile, powerful engine for change. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As Health Financing Policy Adviser, you will lead our policy, research and advocacy work on health financing for Universal Health Coverage, in addition to supporting policy and advocacy on development finance and tax. In addition you will:

• Develop and deliver health advocacy strategies to influence relevant stakeholders and achieve policy changes at global and national level
• Support the delivery of Save the Children’s centenary commitment on ending all preventable child deaths through pneumonia and influencing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals
• Work with colleagues to develop the organisation’s analysis, research, policy and advocacy on tax, financing for development (FFD), and transformative aid, with a focus on health
• Support regional and country offices to deliver effective advocacy for UHC.

To be successful you will have a significant track record in developing and delivering policy analysis, research and advocacy in global health, with a focus on health financing, Universal Health Coverage and/or child health. You should also have an academic qualification at post-graduate level or equivalent experience in health and international development. In addition you will have:

• Knowledge of and experience in carrying out research, analysis and policy influencing related to development finance, including public finance and tax
• The ability to link research and policy debates and communicate effectively with a variety of non-specialist audiences
• Excellent verbal communication skills, appropriate for external representation
• A good understanding of the UK, global, regional and national external advocacy environment and an ability to assess trends and developments likely to affect advocacy
