Human Appeal is a faith-based, non-governmental and non-profit organisation that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.


We are currently recruiting for a dynamic Head of Mission to be based at our office in Gaziantep and successfully lead and continue to expand our mission in Turkey, where we have built an excellent reputation for our work delivering Food Security and Livelihoods, Shelter and NFIs, WASH and Education Programmes across Turkey and Syria.


The Ideal Candidate:

=         Educated to at least Bachelor Degree level, ideally in a relevant field, e.g. International Relations  

=         Fluent written and spoken communication skills in English and Turkish. Additional languages, e.g. Arabic are desirable

=         At least 5 years of progressively responsible INGO work experience, including experience in a leadership role at Director or Head of Missions level

=         Experience of building personal networks at a senior level, resulting in securing new opportunities for the organization

=         Proven leadership and management experience with a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting, including active mentoring and coaching

=         Proven experience delivering appropriate levels of oversight of a portfolio consisting of a variety of complex, high-value donor-funded projects

=         Strong understanding of programmatic themes, such as: Protection, Shelter and NFIs, Food Security and Livelihoods

=         Extensive representation and fundraising success, including prior experience with UN, European, US and International Donors

=         Experience of managing security in a complex and rapidly changing security context

=         Proven ability to negotiate and work with partner organizations

=         Strong budget and fiscal oversight capabilities

=         Ability to respond to multiple priorities in a timely manner, producing high-quality outcomes

=         A keen understanding of political complexities in the Middle East region

=         Demonstrable passion for international development work and humanitarian aid


NB: This role will be paid at a competitive annual salary which is negotiable, depending on experience, between $45k to $55k per annum, in addition to international relocation benefits!
